A Day at Nursery
Knight’s Nursery is open from 9:00am until 3:00pm and children attend either full or half day sessions.
A typical day in nursery follows the below structure:
- Arrive and self-registration
- Carpet time
- Exploring time (including snack time)
- Carpet time
- Lunch time
- Carpet time
- Exploring time
- Carpet time
- Home time
The carpet time sessions are small bursts of adult-led learning that can comprise of maths, reading, phonics, personal development or celebrate sessions.
Exploring time is child-led through the environment both indoors and outside. The resources and provision available are regularly reviewed, adapted and added to or changed to reflect the children's interests and promote opportunities for learning across all areas of their development. Adults will observe, interact and challenge during the exploration, intervening to lead learning opportunities related to the child’s area of interest.
